France is the number one choice of the skiing fan who goes on a skiing holiday. This is because there are more than 40 fully equipped ski resorts in France and the good news is that some of them are kept open all year.
Geography of France reveals six mountain ranges where skiing holiday can be chosen on. These ski resorts are separate and can be found on the Alps, the Jura, the Vosges, the Massif Central and the Corsica.
There are variations in weather conditions in France and snow conditions in these mountain ranges as well and hence a choice has to be made concerning the skiing resort by the skiing enthusiast.
It can be well said that conditions in France are convenient for skiing around January and February. Because of school vacation, it is in February that the ski resorts are crowded in France.
Apart from that, the general skiing season in France can be said to run from December to March or April, depending mainly on the altitude of the ski resort you take your holiday at. The higher the altitude of the resort, the later in the year the snow will stay on the ground.
Here are some things to consider when visiting a camp, watching a video or flipping through the brochure. Please note many of these areas may affect your child’s stay at summer camp. Be sure to ask the Summer Camp Director if you can not find information that you feel is a top priority for your child.
Facilities Be careful to look at the condition of the facilities. Do the buildings well maintained,? Or do they show signs of needed maintenance. Rustic buildings are perfectly ok, make sure that they are not being neglected. Specific things you’ll want to look for and ask about include:
Bunks: * Do children live in cabins, tents, or dorms? * How many beds are in each cabin? * Are they bunk beds or individual cots? * How do the campers choose which beds they want? * Where do the campers store their belongings? * Are the cabins to crowded? Is there enough storage space? Has the camp overbooked and crowded extra campers in? * Are the cabins clean? Are beds made by the campers and belongings stowed? * How many counselors sleep in each Cabin?
